Delegation from Zaragoza visits Guangzhou to compete for Guangzhou award
On the afternoon of May 16, a delegation from Zaragoza (Spain), led by Mr. Jerónimo Blasco Jáuregui, Vice Mayor and City Councilor of Culture, Education and Environment, visited the Organizing Committee of the Guangzhou Award and submitted the application materials for the 2nd Guangzhou Award on behalf of the city of Zaragoza. Mr. Tang Guocai, Deputy Director General of the Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office, received the application materials on behalf of the Organizing Committee and introduced the Guangzhou Award in details.
Mr. Jerónimo introduced their initiative systematically. According to Mr. Jerónimo, the purpose of participation is not only to win the Guangzhou Award but also to exchange with the global cities, enhance its own development and meanwhile benefit more cities with its own experience through the platform of the Guangzhou Award.
Being the capital city of the Zaragoza province and of the Autonomous Community of Aragon, Zaragoza is the fifth largest city of Spain and enjoys a long history. It hosted the Expo 2008 and ranked sixth in the European Green Capital 2014.
