Mr. Diao Ailin, Deputy Secretary General of Guangzhou Municipal Government, led a delegation to Kazan, Russia and Berlin, Germany from May 25 to June 1 for the UCLG Executive Bureau meeting and 2016 Sustainable Urban China Conference.

During his stay in Kazan, Mr. Diao Ailin attended the UCLG Executive Bureau meeting and Statutory Affairs Committee meeting. He also reported on the progress made for the 3rd Guangzhou Award and the work done by UCLG Community on Urban Innovation. Apart from these, he participated in discussions on the UCLG agenda and strategic plan for development.

In Berlin, Mr. Diao Ailin attended the 2016 Sustainable Urban China Conference, introduced Guangzhou’s experience in sustainable development and Eco-city construction and promoted the 3rd Guangzhou Award. During their stay, the delegation visited the cooperation partners of the Guangzhou Award including Policy Transfer Platform and Citiscope. They also visited some institutional representatives such as Gino Van Begin, ICLEI Secretary General. All parties discussed and exchanged views on further cooperation.
