Guangzhou’s foreign affairs office seeks more cooperation with urban planning institute

Lei Weiju, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government, led a Guangzhou Award working team to visit Guangzhou Urban Planning & Design Survey Research Institute (GZPI) on Feb 13.
During the visit, Lei met with the institute’s president Deng Xingdong, and discussed pushing forward with international exchanges and strengthening cooperation on urban innovation development.
Lei said that both sides share many key issues on which they can cooperate, and Guangzhou’s Foreign Affair Office could be a platform for the GZPI to strengthen exchanges with foreign organizations and institutes. He also hoped both sides can further cooperation on urban renewal cases for the Guangzhou Award, and jointly organize international conferences and exhibitions, as well as share resources.
Responding to that, Deng presented a review of the cooperation between the GZPI and Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office and the progress made on international conferences. Deng expressed that the GZPI was very glad to cooperate with Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office through Guangzhou Award and multilateral exchange projects.
