Guangzhou Institute for Urban Innovation ‘shakes hands’ with the International Society of City and Regional Planners
A delegation headed by Liu Baochun, Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government, pays a two-day visit to ISOCARP in Munich, Germany on Feb 26-27.
A delegation, headed by Liu Baochun, Director General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government and Secretary General of Guangzhou Institute for Urban Innovation (GIUI), paid a two-day visit to the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) in Munich, Germany on Feb 26-27. GIUI signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a partnership with ISOCARP on Feb 26.

According to the MoU, both sides will cooperate on the innovation of urban planning and management.
During its two-day visit, the team also studied Munich’s public transportation network, visited its new district which has been transformed from an old airport, and learned how the city has built itself into an international exchange center through holding exhibitions.
Founded in 1965, ISOCARP is a global association of experienced professional planners headquartered in Hague, the Netherlands. It aims to bring together recognized and highly-qualified planners in an international network for better planning practice, to promote the communication among professional planners and to provide solutions for decision makers on city planning.
