Guangzhou delegates on study tours to Denmark, Belgium
A Guangzhou delegation made study tours to Copenhagen, Denmark and Brussels Capital Region, Belgium, from May 28 to June 4.
Led by Mr. Tu Hongzhe, Vice Counsel of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government, the delegation drew on experiences from the initiatives of the third cycle of the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation (Guangzhou Award).
In Copenhagen, which won the Guangzhou Award in 2016 for its "Climate Resilient Neighborhood" initiative, the Guangzhou delegates visited the city's Technical and Environmental Department and SLA Architects to make an in-depth study of the initiative.
Guangzhou delegates hold a discussion with officials of Brussels Planning Agency (Perspective.Brussels), in Brussels Capital Region on June 1.
They also met with Mayor for Technical and Environmental Affairs Mr. Morten Kabell, and completed a field trip to the neighborhoods of Skt. Kjelds Plads and Skt. Annæ Plads.
Following that, the delegates toured the Brussels Capital Region, which was shortlisted for the third Guangzhou Award for its project of "Boosting together the sustainable development of the Brussels' Canal Area".
In Brussels, the delegation visited the Brussels Planning Agency (Perspective.Brussels), the private company Abattoir and Citydev-Greenbizz to gain a better understanding of those initiatives. During their tour, they also went for an on-site visit to where the initiatives are implemented: Urban Farm, Greenbizz and Tivoli GreenCity project.
