Guangzhou delegation draws experience from Hangzhou and Yiwu
A delegation from Guangzhou completed a round of study trips in Hangzhou and Yiwu, Zhejiang province, from July 24 to 28, drawing on experiences in urban management and hosting international conference from these two cities.
Led by Mr. Tu Hongzhe, Vice Counsel of the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government, the delegation held a discussion with Mr. Du Shigen, Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Hangzhou Municipal Government.
The delegation was briefed on the major practices and operations Hangzhou has employed in hosting international conferences and the newly established UCLG Asia Pacific Region "Belt and Road" Local Cooperation Professional Committee (BRLC). They also carried out a field study of the Hangzhou International Expo Center, the main venue of the G20 summit in 2016.

In Yiwu, whose initiative "Promoting social cohesion and integration through foreign national trade mediators" was titled with the Special Mention Initiative of the third Guangzhou Award in 2016, the delegation visited the People's Mediation Committee for Foreign-related Disputes from July 26 to 28.
The Guangzhou delegation conducts a study tour of Yiwu, Zhejiang province, to draw on experiences from Yinwu's initiative for the third Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation on July 26.
To better understand the work of the mediation committee, the delegation watched an on-site case and spoke with members of the committee, including Mr. Wang Liegang, Deputy Director of the Yiwu Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Office, and Mr. Chen Jinyan, Director of the Yiwu People's Mediation Committee for Foreign-related Disputes.
The delegation also conducted visit to the Yiwu International Trade Mart, Yiwu International Trade Services Center and Yiwu Tongyue Social Work Services Center.
