Global mayors to gather in Guangzhou, aiming at urban innovation
The 2023 Global Mayors' Forum & 6th Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation will be held in Guangzhou from December 7 to 9.
This event is a collaboration between the World Association of Major Metropolises, United Cities and Local Government (UCLG), and Guangzhou City.
As of November 29, representatives from 63 cities and 9 international organizations from 37 countries have confirmed their participation.
A total of 12 major events are scheduled. Among them are two core activities: one is the 6th Guangzhou International Award Ceremony and Global Mayors' Forum Welcoming Dinner held on the evening of December 7, where the list of winners of this year's Guangzhou International Award will be announced.
The other is the opening ceremony held on the morning of December 8, where the United Nations representatives and leaders of the organizers are invited to deliver speeches. Mayors from both Chinese and foreign cities are invited to speak at the thematic forum.
