The Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation (Guangzhou Award) serves as a platform for the sharing and exchange of innovative practices in the local implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and New Urban Agenda (NUA). Its objective is to contribute to the creation of inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and human settlements. Since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic, cities and local governments have been facing severe challenges.
The interactive side event will invite experts of urban innovation as well as city representatives to discuss about the new trends of urban innovation emerged during the pandemic and how urban innovation helps build back better. Each panelist will present for around 10 minutes and the rest of the time will be devoted to interactive Q&A and comments from the floor.
