How to define urban innovation? How can an innovation index be developed to guide through researches of urban innovation? A lively discussion about urban innovation and its index was held on July 7th in the office of Guangzhou Award Secretariat.
Since 2012, four cycles of the Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation (hereinafter referred to as “Guangzhou Award”) have been held, each of which receives initiatives from more than 150 cities of over 50 countries and regions. These four cycles have made the Guangzhou Award a treasure trove of over 1,000 valuable initiatives, which cover a wide range of subjects and issues, to be analyzed and studied.
At the conference, a number of experts discussed the definition of the Urban Innovation Index and the establishment of its system, providing rich, professional and forward-looking suggestions on its development.
