On September 13, Guangzhou Institute for Urban Innovation (GIUI) and University of 17 Augustus 1945 Surabaya (UNTAG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Strategic Partnership and agreed to strengthen cooperation as well as promoting the implementation of the Global Goals.

As a first cooperation program, UNTAG provided major logistical and technical support to the Technical Committee meeting.
