Guangzhou award showcased at 23rd Guangzhou Fair
The Guangzhou International Award for Urban Innovation (the Guangzhou Award) and Asia Pacific Regional Office of Metropolis participated in the 23rd Guangzhou Fair which was held in Area A of China Import and Export Fair Pazhou Complex in Guangzhou from August 28 to 30.
The exhibition featured the 15 shortlisted initiatives of the 2014 (second) cycle of the Guangzhou Award, including the five winning initiatives. The focus of the exhibition was on city-to-city cooperation and how local authorities can learn from each other’s innovations. Guangzhou’s Mayor Chen Jianhua paid special attention to the shortlisted initiatives during his visit to the fair. During the four-day exhibition over 800 people visited the Guangzhou Award booth and more than 200 visitors took part in special events.
Co-hosted by Guangzhou Municipal Government and China Foreign Trade Center, the 23rd Guangzhou Fair featured some 6,000 booths in three general exhibition halls and eight professional exhibition halls, covering an area of 120,000 square meters. This was the largest fair ever in terms of exhibiting area and its design and layout were appreciated by all visitors.
