5th Urban Innovation Forum, a lively event
On June 26, the 5th Urban Innovation Forum was held in Guangzhou Library. Dr. Deng Jiangnian, Vice President of Guangdong Maritime Silk Road Institute, was invited to present three excellent cases shortlisted for the 2nd Guangzhou Award, namely how Dakar improves the living conditions of its disadvantaged groups with the Municipal Finance Program, how Abu Dhabi strives to become sustainable by making all new buildings more environmentally friendly, and how Jakarta, bearing a sense of social responsibility, tackles climate change and environmental crisis through cooperation with various partners.
Abu Dhabi, Senegal and Jakarta are all along the Maritime Silk Road. During the lecture, Dr. Deng discussed issues including the influence of Maritime Silk Road and the Belt and Road Initiative on China’s trade. The event was hosted by Guangzhou Foreign Affairs Office, Guangzhou Institute for Urban Innovation, and Guangzhou Library.
