Guangzhou is seeking out the diversified development of the outdoor leisure industry, according to the eighth Urban Innovation Forum held at Guangzhou Library on Aug 26.

Ms Bai Ling, Deputy Secretary General of the Youth Commission of Chinese Mountaineering Association and Guangzhou Mountaineering Association, gave a keynote speech sharing her insights on the latest trends in national fitness and the outdoor leisure industry.

Guangzhou enjoys abundant resources to develop its outdoor sports industry, combined with its convenient transportation and pleasant climate. 

A wide range of outdoor sports covering mountaineering, adventuring expedition, rock climbing, hiking and others, have been in full swing in the city.

Guangzhou has already held three outdoor sports festivals since 2015, displaying the determination of the capital of Guangdong province to advance and promote outdoor sports industry among the public.

The Urban Innovation Forum was sponsored by the Foreign Affairs Office of Guangzhou Municipal Government, Guangzhou Institute for Urban Innovation, Guangzhou Library, and Guangzhou Urban Planning and Design Survey Research Institute.
